Domenico Castiello, director of Po.Te.Co. (Polo Tecnologico Conciario, Tanning Technology Hub, based in Santa Croce sull’ Arno), tells us about their support given at the Leather (Re) Cycling Exhibition. They primarily developed a few training projects, internationally acknowledged; on top of that, Po.Te.Co have also been carrying out valuable research on products and by-products recycling systems “so far overlooked”. In example given, manufacturing scraps or leather articles at the end of their lifecycle. Furthermore, Castiello also illustrated the company’s recent experimentation, which enabled a full decomposition of finished products, while recycling chromium and proteins, which are therefore both available for further uses.
