Solofra: LVMH and Kering review the modernisation of wastewater treatment plant

They had the opportunity to view the new covering plant, which is currently undergoing testing, and were updated on the modernisation plans for the wastewater treatment plant and the industrial sewer system – a joint project between the Municipality of Solofra, the Campania Region, the management company, and other partners. On 15 April, representatives of LVMH and Kering – the French luxury conglomerates behind flagship brands such as Louis Vuitton and Gucci – visited the tanning district of Campania. Accompanied by Mayor Nicola Moretti and Councillor for Industrial Activities Felice Maffei (pictured), they were able to witness first-hand the infrastructure improvements, which are now moving forward with a focus on efficiency and sustainability, following the lifting of legal restrictions this past February.

As part of the same visit, delegates from LVMH and Kering also toured the wastewater treatment plant in Mercato San Severino (Salerno), which falls within the same Alto Sarno district and is likewise undergoing modernisation work. The tour of Campania, initiated at the request of the luxury groups to local authorities, proved to be an excellent exercise in transparency and collaboration. As previously reported, the Solofra industrial district is not only calibrating new biological filtration systems at its treatment plant but is also pushing ahead with further investments, such as the overhaul of the industrial sewer network. This demonstrates a committed and tangible approach to sustainability.
