In short, the theme is “supply chain sustainability”. UNIC – Italian Tanneries spoke about it last October at Lineapelle by organising a seminar that went sold out. So that so that it left the need to return to those arguments on the table, developing them from a new point of view. UNIC double, therefore, and at the next Lineapelle edition proposes a new talk for professionals (but not only). Reference themes: traceability and animal welfare.
The seminar
First of all, the title: “Leather supply chain commitment to sustainability: traceability and animal welfare”. Object (obviously): tanning raw material. “Sustainability – explain from UNIC – is a key issue for the tanning industry. It gradually became part of the sector dynamics. And over time, this concept has extended to the entire supply chain. Starting from the supply that, now more than ever, cannot ignore the traceability of supplies and compliance with regulations, standards and good practices regarding animal welfare”.
The report
The seminar is scheduled on February 19 at 2.30pm in the LEM conference room (Ponte dei Mari) at Fieramilano Rho. “The event – UNIC concludes – will be opened with the presentation of the new Sustainability Report of the Italian tanning industry. This new edition analyses the sector by filtering the objectives of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. These are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals”. Through their “filter”, UNIC explains how Italian tanneries are at the forefront of their constant commitment to an increasingly responsible supply chain.
