A workshop to share and discuss the knowledge and best practice of leather tanning circularity, alongside a contest to award and give value to corporate experiences. Save the date, the first one, on February 21, at Lineapelle, the most important leather and materials international fair, on the agenda at Fieramilano Rho, on February 20-22. University professors and experts, together with some representatives of brands, companies and institutions, will gather and give a speech during the “Italian Leather Circularity – overall Sustainability” conference, arranged by UNIC – Italian Tanneries. The event (visitors who want to attend must sign up for it) will take place at the LEM conference hall, located at the Ponte dei Mari. It is due to start at 2pm. The leather industry uses and recycles a waste material discarded by livestock and farming industry: it is therefore a prime example of sustainability. It is no coincidence then that UNIC – Italian Tanneries joined a project, set by Confindustria, whose name is “Management and companies to face circular Economy”. Alongside the project, they also announced a contest, “The best performers of circular economy”: the aim is to award and enhance companies that have been promoting and implementing, in a three-year-period, from 2016 to 2018, innovative projects, new business models and circularity best practice. Visit the website to find out more about the contest regulation and possibly submit your application.
