The stimulus package is substantial. Bataguassu’s Prefectory hasn’t saved any money when it came to incentivizing training programs in the local leather district, which is part of the area’s industrial cluster. According to local news source Diario Digital, the administration has granted entrepreneurs interested in investing in the location the rental space, the ability of reshaping the ground layout and a 2% discounted tax on services (ISSQN) along with the cancellation of the tax on urban property (IPTU). As if that wasn’t enough to make entrepreneurs want to relocate to the district, Mato Grosso do Sul’s government, of which Bataguassu is part, offers additional tax cuts and increased credit lines.

The development project of Bataguassu involves an area of 330,000 square meters.If things were to go well, another 90,000 meters would be added to it. Companies working in the meat chain, such as Marfrig, or leather chain, such as Blue Brasil, are already active in the area. The local government’s goal is to favor training for the leather segment. This goal is proven by the next edition of FEICC-MS (Feira de Calçados, Couros e Acessórios de Mato Grosso do Sul). That being said, this objective does not exclude the entry of other types of businesses in the area.
