Cotance held the first directive committee of the ERICA project on February 15th. The acronym stands for “European Repository of the Industry’s Collective Agreements”, because the Continent’s tanning segment plans on creating a database of collective contracts for the whole area. The project will be done in collaboration of IndustriAll–Europe and 7 national associations. Which ones? UNIC – Italian Tanneries for Italy, Acexpiel for Spain and APIC for Portugal. With them there will also be AHLI (Hungary), FFTM (France), SG (Sweden) and VDL (Germany). Leather UK (United Kingdom) participates with an observer role.
Database of Europe’s collective contracts
The ERICA project if financed by the EU and is going to last 15 months. The end is expected for April 2022, when Cotance will present the database. Digital archive will be open to the project’s partners. “It will allow – explains Cotance -, for a comparative analysis of the key elements agreed by all partners”.
Within the ERICA context, there will be national seminars over “social dialogue”. These will be the occasions, for both parties, to “discuss key matters regarding collective contracts, also as to promote – concludes Cotance – the comprehension of Europe’s social dialogue and share best practices”.
