Italian leather industry strives to support the struggle against Coronavirus outbreak. In the region of Veneto, Gruppo Mastrotto publicly announced a meaningful solidarity project. Primarily, they supplied a 100,000-euro donation in aid of the Fondazione San Bortolo Onlus, a non-profit organization. On top of that, they also implemented a health insurance for their employees.
The donation
“Money funds allocated by our company – they pointed out in a press release – are going to support Fondazione San Bortolo”. They are “a non-profit association, which is actively committed to collecting funds for the benefit of Vicenza hospital”. The group therefore wanted “to supply a tangible contribution to support the struggle against Covid-19 health emergency, by donating 100,000 euros to buy materials for the safeguarding of healthcare staff and medical equipment for the Vicenza San Bortolo Hospital”. The donation is part of a wider initiative: thanks to valuable support, provided by private citizens and companies, the Foundation has collected, so far, over 2 million euros.
The insurance
Gruppo Mastrotto have not only donated 100,000 euros to Fondazione San Bortolo. Besides that, they announced, “their own employees will benefit from a health insurance, specifically valid in the event of a Covid-19 positive test. Such insurance policy will not only provide a money compensation, but will also cover transport expenses from one’s own house to hospital or any other treatment destination”. Moreover, the insurance will also include “a medical follow-up after hospitalisation alongside some measures supporting the family management: among others, a personal domestic assistant, assistance in aid of underage kids and grocery shopping home delivery”.
