With an M&A operation that closed last August 1st, Masoni Industria Conciaria, Tuscan company partially owned by the LVMH Métiers d’Art group, acquired a minority position of Ulivieri & Nardi’s capital. “Growing together with the territory is one of the most relevant goals for us – commented Fabrizio Masoni, CEO of Masoni, in a note -. Today we confirm our wish by signing an agreement between two companies that consider excellence, research and quality, their distinctive elements. The operation will allow us to improve the production processes, know-how and artisanal knowledge that are of fundamental value for the development of the chain’s traceability”.
The operation
Ulivieri & Nardi is located in Castelfranco di Sotto (Pisa) and is specialized in the artisanal transformation of hides at the wet-blue status. With the acquisition of a minority position, Masoni plans on consolidating its production chain, guaranteeing transparency and excellence in all its development phases. Moreover, given that the company currently employs 60 people, the plan is to grow the organic by 20% in 2023, while increasing production by 30%.
The comment
“I am proud that Masoni decided to invest in our artisanal activity – stated Maurizio Ulivieri, owner of Ulivieri & Nardi –. I sold this minority share because I firmly believe in protecting the artisanal know-how and, at the same time, because growing near an excellent and structured enterprise will increase our productivity and confirm our attachment to the Tuscan territory”.
