Pisa's industrialists celebrate 100 years and award Masoni

Industry belongs to everyone. This was the slogan that accompanied the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Unione Industriale Pisana held on June 7,  2022, in a Verdi Theatre in Pisa packed with illustrious guests. In fact, in addition to Patrizia Alma Pacini (UIP president), Carlo Bonomi (president of Confindustria nazionale), Eugenio Giani (president of the Tuscany Region) and Michele Conti (mayor of Pisa) spoke. During the morning, some of the most significant stages in UIP’s history were retraced and the Sustainability Award was launched. The winner, in this first edition, was a tannery in Santa Croce sull’Arno.

The celebration of 100 years of UIP also saw the presentation of the first edition of the Sustainability Award reserved to Small and Medium Enterprises associated with Confindustria. It was collected by Stefano Cappellini (Head of Sustainability and Integrated Management System, on the right in the photo together with Roberto Lapi, UIP Vice-President). The prize consists of a Master‘s Degree at the University of Pisa, an incentive to always grow and improve.

UIP’s centenary was also celebrated with the publication of the book ‘L’industria è di tutti‘ (Industry belongs to everyone). Signed by Silvio Bianchi Martini (Department of Business Economics, University of Pisa) and Andrea Piccaluga (Institute of Management Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna).
