PrimeAsia, far from crisis: invests and renovates factory in Vietnam

PrimeAsia Leather, a Chinese tanning group, has announced the completion of its expansion project in Vietnam. The new facility will increase the group’s monthly production capacity to 8 million square feet, or approximately 740,000 square metres. Thus, despite the economic downturn, PrimeAsia is not only investing but also renovating one of its largest factories.

A new building

As part of the expansion project, PrimeAsia Vietnam will benefit from the addition of a third re-tanning and colouring plant, equipped with eight new fully automated production drums. The entire existing area of the two segments, including teams, will be relocated to the newly constructed building. The new plant will also facilitate the upgrading of equipment to support the increasing demand for leather for sports brands. This includes new drying and conditioning equipment with advanced technology, additional machinery in the splitting, shaving, and polishing areas, and further implementation of solid waste management technologies.

Words from the CEO

The new plant will enable PrimeAsia to expand its market reach. As reported by Leatherbiz, production capacity will increase to 740,000 square metres. “Our team has worked tirelessly to remain a global player in leather supply”, emphasised CEO Jonathan Clark at the opening event of the new plant.
