Two bids to take it over: maybe Tenerías Omega is saved

Tenerías Omega’s business could restart. Four months after the bankruptcy trustee’s decision to close the Villatuerta tannery, two bids have come in to take over the business. This is good news for the 77 employees (79 at the time of closure) and for the governing Council. The latter has always maintained that the crisis of the business was to be blamed on its mismanagement and not on a lack of orders and work.

Two bids to take it over

After 33 years, it seemed as if it was the end for Tenerías Omega’s business. Especially after the notice of its closure submitted by the ownership to the local court. In recent days, however, it emerged that the action to take advantage of the redundancy fund for the 77 employees was suspended. This is because, in the meantime, two offers have been received to take over the business. One involves keeping 44 jobs; the other stops at 40.

Tenerías Omega may be saved

According to union representatives, the two offers prove what they have always stated. In other words, that the tannery had orders and work, so the decision to close was due to poor management decision. noticiasdenavarra.com points out that the owners did not consider restructuring the business because they aimed to close it down quickly.
