A positive first day and big expectations for the next few hours : these are the impressions and expectations gathered from the exhibitors from the chemicals sector currently at Simac Tanning Tech, the international exhibition of machinery and technology for the footwear, leather goods, and tanning industries currently under way at Fieramilano Rho. “Today is the real highlight”, noted Diego Cisco from GSC Group in Montebello Vicentino (Vicenza), who said that the first day of the exhibition “followed the trend from last year, the same trend from 2017, which is positive.” The managers of BASF, an international group headquartered in Ludwigshafen, Germany, were particularly pleased: “The first day went very well, we met a number of clients and we expect to do even better in the next few hours”, commented Felix Willenbrink. “We’ve noticed a lot of interest in our collaboration with Analco (a Spanish footwear components company, Ed.)”, explained the executive, “and in the new Ultrasim project, where we used a simulation to develop a new, lighter anti-torsion footwear insert made from polyurethane and glass fibre.” “I haven’t got the numbers at hand, but my impression is that the first day might have been a little less lively than other editions”, commented, on the other hand, Massimo Gotti from Silvateam (San Michele Mondovi), who has an optimistic outlook for the second day, stressing that “what really matters is who enters our stand, not how many people enter.”
