The world tour of Italian technology in 2024 started in Pakistan and will end in Milan. Technology for tanneries, shoe factories and leather goods, represented by Assomac and brought to the fair by Simac Tanning Tech, defines a rich global roadmap. Objective: “Strengthen the competitiveness of member companies”.
The global roadmap of Simac Tanning Tech
First stop on Simac Tanning Tech‘s global roadmap: Lahore, for Pakistan Mega Leather Show, that started on 26 January and on 28 January yesterday. This was followed by: “Lineapelle New York, 31 January to 1 February in New York, USA. India International Leather Fair, 1 to 3 February in Chennai. Lineapelle Milan, 20 to 22 February in Milan. APLF Leather, 19-21 March in Hong Kong”. Then: “Shoes and Leather Vietnam, from 10 to 12 July in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. All China Leather Exhibition in Shanghai”. The season will end on a high note “with the organisation of the special edition for the 50th anniversary of Simac Tanning Tech, from 17 to 19 September in Milan, in conjunction with Lineapelle 104”.
Virtual Reality
“Assomac will participate in these exhibitions with its own space where member companies can present their innovative technologies and solutions. Then: events and workshops, to promote research and technological development in the sector. Also: B2B meetings, to foster the creation of business relations between Italian companies and international buyers”. The focus will be, in particular, on “virtual reality (VR) with the use of visors. For the first time, during the last Simac Tanning Tech, Assomac in collaboration with PIN (Polo Universitario Città di Prato), presented a production plant with machinery for tanning, leather goods, and footwear, which could be visited virtually thanks to 3D visors. Users were able to interact directly and voluntarily with the products and production technologies of the sector, enhancing their understanding of the operations involved in the production processes”.
An important opportunity
“Participation in these fairs is an important opportunity for our companies to meet international buyers and present their innovative solutions”, says Agostino Apolito, newly appointed director of Assomac, who recently took over from Roberto Vago. “We are convinced that technology is a key factor for the competitiveness of our industry, and we are committed to supporting our companies in their innovation path”.
