From theory to Lineapelle showcase. It happened during the last edition of the fair, held at Fieramilano Rho on September 22-24, 2021. The protagonists: the students of the degree course in Fashion Design at the IUAV University in Venice.
From theory to Lineapelle showcase
The students took part in the project “University and Industry: know-how and design” developed within the Fashion Design 4 Laboratory. Objective: to design a capsule collection of accessories with materials supplied by companies such as: Bonaudo, Anaconda, Schmid, YKK and Sama. A design exercise that made it possible to blend the elements of the material and immaterial heritage of the companies with personal, original and unexpected imagery.
The exhibition
At Lineapelle, 21 illustrative panels with the projects created by the young people (a total of 34 participants) were on display. Unfortunately, due to the limitations imposed by Covid, it was not possible to hold the workshops in person, but only online, so the creation of the accessories remained on hold. “The results of the workshop projects show how a free but conscious approach leads to interesting results in terms of redefining identity,” explain IUAV, “in terms of the use and combination of materials and the ability to renew the approach to modelling”.
Cultivating creativity
“Creativity must be cultivated, not only at an aesthetic-formal level, but also at a technical and material level,” explain IUAV. “Collaboration with leading companies in the sector has been fundamental for the possibility of drawing on technical knowledge and products that would otherwise be difficult to achieve”.
